New 4D Cinema Opens at Wookey Hole

The renowned caves attraction appointed Bristol based company Saturn Imagineering to bring its ‘Witch of Wookey’ legend into the 21st Century with state of the art effects in a spell-binding show that culminates in an exciting multi-dimensional theatre experience.

Saturn Imagineering’s latest creation is now complete at The Wookey Hole Caves in Somerset where visitors who dare enter The Witch’s Laboratoryencounter the Witch of Wookey’s pet bat Harold and see the amazing result of his attempt at one of the Witch’s weirdest spells whilst she is away.

Visitors then discover the Magic Mirror that magically transports them back in time to The Lost World where they become involved in a spectacular life or death chase and feel the breath of the dinosaurs on their face, the pounding of their giant feet, hear their roars and enjoy a ride full of surprises and thrills.

Daniel Medley, Director at Wookey Hole Caves said: “The Witch of Wookey now has a laboratory that can conjure up spells that we will change from time to time. We are starting with a spell that takes people to the Lost World of the dinosaurs where visitors will get a real adrenaline rush as they experience the fear of being chased by the biggest creatures that ever roamed the earth. The experience perfectly complements one of Wookeys other attractions the Valley of the Dinosaurs, which children love to spend time in after seeing the famous caverns of Wookey Hole.

This new attraction has a great future ahead of it as we have plans for the witch to conjure up other exciting 4D experiences too.”

Simon Pickard, Managing Director of Saturn Imagineering says “Wookey Hole is a unique attraction in a wonderfully atmospheric setting and with some fascinating stories to tell. It couldn’t fail to inspire our creative ideas and designs which we have been able to deliver with a host of state of the art pre-show and screen theatre effects. The project was taken from concept to completion in just four months to ensure readiness for Wookey’s busy summer season. We are all delighted with the results”.
